Hamsey Community Primary students build confidence in construction with Gold Property Development
Two members of our team treated students of Hamsey Community Primary School to a tour of the new Chatfield Close construction site at Cooksbridge near Lewes in Sussex. Two members of the Gold Property Development (GPD) team took 20 children and their teacher on to the site of new homes to show them how building projects work.
The children sported hi-vis jackets just like the construction workers would and enjoyed a presentation from us that showed the different stages of building a house from the ground up including external and internal finishes. Later the children were invited into one of the empty homes to see the finished product. The tour helped support the children with learning objectives in the National Curriculum and also helped them build confidence in meeting with external companies.
Katie Debczak, our Sales Manager was leading the tour. “We are really pleased to be able to show the children around the site and help them learn about how the houses were built. The new development is a big change for the local community and the children may have friends moving to the new homes, so we thought it would be a fun memory for them to see the site in progress. We are always delighted to support local community projects close to our developments and enjoy working closely with schools and community groups. In addition to our work in Cooksbridge we are sponsoring the local Christmas event a few miles away in Wivelsfield, home to our Pepper Close site”
Chatfield Close show homes are now open to the public from 10am – 4pm each Saturday and Sunday. More information about the development can be found at www.chatfieldclose.com
